Wanted: The Perfect Pet

“Wanted: The Perfect Pet” is a funny book written by Fiona Robertson. Henry really wanted a pet with a personality. He wanted another pet that would be not a frog. He started making advertisements. He set up things to be sold for a dog. In chapter two there was a duck. Nobody ever called him or did anything. He did things on his own. One day he opened up a paper and he saw that. He wanted to be a dog so he could be and have a friend. He created the perfect disguise. Chapter three talks about how Henry was happy he got a dog. But the Duck couldn’t run well like a dog or play. The duck’s disguise fell over, He then started crying but Henry accepted him and helped him. He started trying to find things to make him a dog. He then said it might be for the perfect pet for him and called him Spot. In my opinion, this book made me remember about my moms past. I connected to another book called the ugly duckling. During the ugly duckling, he gets neglected by his family but then later gets accepted so it’s like the book we read. I connected Text to self because I had a duck once. When I had this duck I loved it so much but sadly it passed away. I connected to the world because I’ve seen cases of animals going to the wrong owners but the owners still accept it.  My last connection was to the media because I’ve seen many videos from the DoDo.

Wangaris Tree

“Wangari’s Trees of Peace: A true story from Africa” is an inspiring book written by Jeanette Winter. She lived in a village and gathered supplies with her mother. Something happened when she went and all the forest was wiped out. She wanted to replant all the trees and started spreading her ideas. The men said that the woman couldn’t plant them  Ignored and they wanted to plant the seeds. They cubbed her and started hitting her and this news spread around the villages of Africa. This made people want to take part in her plans by helping her by planting trees. The army hated Wangari but she still moved on and changed Africa. In this book, I could connect to how she shared her love with nature. I love animals and nature so I would do the same thing Wangari did.
